Radicchio di Treviso

Treviso is known for many reasons
This beautiful, charming city is home to Benetton ~ a global luxury fashion brand, appliance maker DeLonghi and Pinarello which is a name brand of Italian hand made bicycles.

And lastly but not least

Radicchio di Treviso

I was surprisingly surprised that I liked Radicchio di Treviso, as I've had other varieties of Radicchio and wasn't a fan. As for me the other varieties were too bitter. So, I was a bit skeptical to try the one in the photo above.

My husband prepared the radicchio cut into pieces dressed with olive oil, vinegar, and salt. So simple, yet so delicious. It doesn't have a bitter taste at all. I love it.

The wild mushroom season is now over and now we have the Radicchio di Treviso to look forward too.

The recipes are endless with Radicchio.
Risotto with Radicchio di Treviso
Grilled and Roasted Radicchio di Treviso
and the list goes on

As with any vegetable or fruit; the Radicchio is not around all year, so make sure to try it when it is in season, which is now.

Buon Appetito
